A sample question might be:

Dear Tim,
I am making a part from steel I am roughing the O/D in Pos2 and then forming in Pos3, However I am unable to get the required finish my customer has specified is shaving or burnishing the way forward and will this effect my cycle time?

Dear Customer,
To achieve a better finish we would recommend shaving, this you could do in Pos 4 when forming please leave the O/D .1mm over size then you would be able to shave down to your finished size giving the much better surface finish you require of around 8CLR when using the Peterson tools Thrift Shaver... With regards your cycle time there is no reason for this to be effected.

Peterson Thrift Shave

Peterson Thrift Shave Thrift shave is an adjustable - quick-change shave fixture. The adjustments included on most models are: taper, radial and axial movement and part diameter. It is delivered with three spring tensions so you can adjust the tool pressure. Most Thriftshaves are convertible to other positions. An owners manual is included with each to help with setup and maintenance. Each component is precision ground to provide the utmost in controlling tight tolerances. On moderately aged and maintained Wickman machines, Thriftshave is capable of holding a tolerance of 8 microns. New Wickman machines can expect better.
